SAP Integrated Business planning is SAP's new, state-of-the art platform for real-time, integrated supply chain planning – built on SAP HANA, for Cloud deployment. SAP IBP is being developed to deliver integrated, unified planning across sales and operations, demand, inventory, supply and response planning, as well as the supply chain control tower for dashboard analytics and monitoring.
SAP IBP comprises of the components displayed on the right:
SAP Integrated Business planning for response and supply allows quick adaption
to changes in demand, considering the full supply chain model as well as simulates
plans for production, distribution, and procurement to meet customer needs in a
constrained or unconstrained mode. Integrated Business planning for response and
supply generates What-If analysis to provide visibility into potential scenarios*.
SAP Integrated Business Planning (IBP) allows you to create a complete supply
plan for your supply chain network using different demand and supply planning algorithms.
You can run the algorithms in Excel in simulation or batch mode. The resulting plan provides
information on how much of each product should be purchased, produced, or shipped at each
location in your supply chain and in which period of the planning horizon. The supply plan also
allows you to identify issues in your supply chain, such as insufficient production capacity or
stock. You can configure alerts to warn you about such issues. You can then use the functions in
Excel to try out different solutions and share scenarios with other team members before coming to a
decision about what changes need to be made.
